Check out this great review from one of our Baby Jogger Fans who attended our 2014 launch in Sydney.
This week I had the great privilege of attending the 2014
Baby Jogger launch. This year is their 30th anniversary and to celebrate they
have come up with an all new logo and badging system for their products. The
new logo truly reflects all of their prams by featuring a curve indicative of
their popular large canopies that have a 50+ UPF rating. They showed us some
amazing new colours and other minor changes to their already great products as
well. The product that caught my eye the most was their new City Select.
They've refashioned the strong frame making it all black giving the pram a
sleeker, fancier look. The seats now have a black frame as well tying them into
the frame even more than the previous models, making it appear as if the whole
pram is one piece rather than 2+ pieces. They are now offering 5 great colours
in an all new fabric for the seats as well. You can choose from black, charcoal
(denim), silver, teal or red. All of these colours will be available for
purchase in their bassinet kits and second seat kits as well. Another fabulous
bonus being that these new seats will also fit on all previous City Select
models in case you would like to replace your current seats. If you have had
the opportunity to view and/or own some of their previous prams from the City
Mini, City Elite or City Mini GT series then you will have seen an felt the
great quality fabric that is now being used on the City Select as well. It is a
shinier fabric that wipes clean and feels very durable. I would also guess that
it would be cooler on hot summer days for baby to sit on than the previous City
Select fabric. The seats also feature a new harness system with 2 improvements.
The first thing that I noticed is that to readjust the height of the straps you
no longer need to unclip and move it to a higher or lower level. The strap is
now sewn to the seat and readjusts with a simple slide. The fastening section
has also changed and is now harder for little ones to undo themselves. What
don't I like about the new model? I wouldn't say I don't like it but I'm not
sold on the new black frame. Why not? Well, I know how hot our old model gets
in the boot of our car and I find myself wondering if the new model would get
even hotter. We own a car that has a window directly over the boot space and
I'm sure this adds to the heat of the frame on hot days so this probably
wouldn't be a problem for most people but I thought it was worth mentioning.
Overall I would give the 2014 City Select a 4.5 out of 5. It's the same great
quality with an even more professional look!
Sincerely,
Shannon Robilliard
